Hotels near Prague Castle
Prague Castle hotels
The panorama of Prague Castle and St. Vitus Cathedral is the best known and most photographed picture of Prague. Prague Castle is situated on a small hill overlooking the Vltava River and Prague’s Old Town. Prague Castle used to be the seat of Czech kings for centuries and now it is the seat of the Czech president. There are many good hotels near Prague Castle. Most of them are located in Lesser Quarter, the historical district between the Prague Castle and Vltava River (on the way from Prague Castle to the Charles Bridge and Old Town).
Hotels in Prague Old Town
Besides Prague Castle and Lesser Quarter, the Old Town is another (and probably even more popular) tourist area in Prague with many hotels and restaurants. If you are concerned with location in terms of proximity to major tourist attractions, clubs, shops, or anything else, it is not really important whether you find a hotel in the Old Town or Lesser Quarter, as they are just 5-10 minutes walk away (connected with the Charles Bridge).
Prague hotel prices
Room rates are roughly the same across the historical centre of Prague and range from about EUR 25-30 to hundreds (in the 5 star hotels). If you are on budget, you can find many budget hotels or hostels in the area near Florenc Bus Station (within walking distance from the Old Town, though on the other side than Prague Castle).
Booking Prague Castle hotels
Keep in mind that hotels near Prague Castle and in the Lesser Quarter are often fully booked long in advance (especially in the spring, summer, and around holidays or major Prague events). It is recommended to book early if you don’t want to make compromises or pay much higher price.
