Prague Dejvicka Metro Station

The terminal station of Prague metro line A is Dejvicka Station (this will change soon, as the metro is being extended to Motol). Many visitors of Prague know Dejvicka Station mainly as the interchange between the metro and Prague Ruzyne Airport bus number 119.

Dejvicka Station is located in the north-western part of Prague (behind Prague Castle when looking from the Old Town) in the district called Dejvice (hence the station’s name). Dejvice is a very peaceful, very green residential district, considered one of the best addresses in Prague.

Vitezne Namesti in Prague Dejvice district

There is a round shaped square above Dejvicka Metro Station, officially named Vitezne Namesti (Victorious Square), but often referred to as Kulatak (Round Square) by the locals. It is a university district – there is a large complex of Czech Technical University (CVUT) buildings adjacent to Vitezne Namesti.

Dejvicka Station public transport connections

Thanks to the metro and tram lines to Prague Castle and Lesser Quarter, the area around Dejvicka Station has convenient public transport access – it is only 2 metro stops to Malostranska Station (the best station for visiting Prague Castle and Lesser Quarter), 3 stops to Staromestska (Old Town), and 4 stops to Mustek Station (Wenceslas Square). All these places offer many hotels and almost endless accommodation options.

Hotels near Dejvicka Station in Prague

There are not as many hotels as in some other parts of Prague (such as the Old Town or Lesser Quarter), but you still can find a few gems. One advantage is that room rates can be a bit lower compared to the Old Town. On the other hand, the supply of hotels is limited and it is recommended to book your hotel well in advance.
