Jiriho z Podebrad metro station is situated at Namesti Jiriho z Podebrad (square) in Prague Vinohrady district. The place was named after the king George (Jiri in Czech) of Podebrady, who ruled in the country following the Hussite Wars in 15th century. The square, which is one of the centres of Vinohrady, is dominated by the Church of the Most Sacred Heart of our Lord (Kostel Nejsvetejsiho Srdce Pane), built in 1932 and designed in an unusual modern way. Major streets near Namesti Jiriho z Podebrad are Vinohradska, Slezska, Korunni, and Ondrickova. Riegrovy Sady park is just 2 minutes walk from Jiriho z Podebrad Station.
